I haven’t done one of these posts in a while, but here’s a little insight on what I’m up to lately. I’ve been asked to do revisions on Interdependence, but I’m still pondering the changes I need to make. The editor’s comments were encouraging and one of my other publishers has asked to take a look at it too, so I need to move my ass.
I’m about a third of the way done with Chasing Eternity, the sequel for Illicit Hunger, but kind of lost steam and set it aside. “Lost steam” probably isn’t accurate. Illicit Hunger continues to get “meh” reviews, even though I really like that particular story. People aren’t satisfied with the lack of explanation behind the werewolf prejudice, which I admit is only half-assed explained…but with reason.
Anyway, IH is my longest published story to date. With the many recent 4.5 and 5 star reviews for my super-short works, I’ve been asking myself why I’m working so hard on writing novel length when it’s fairly obvious that people really like my short works. So, my (self-diagnosed) ADHD kicked in and I started a 20K novella for an Ellora’s Cave call. (My first time subbing there, so wish me luck!) I’m 1/4 of the way done with that one right now. As soon as it’s done, I say within the next two weeks, I’ll go back to Chasing Eternity and crank that puppy out.
All to be done in time for NaNoWriMo.
That’s right baby. It’s that time of year. WOOT!! Stay tuned for updates on that.
p.s. I hope you didn’t mind the eye candy up there. He’s been sitting around and I thought I’d put him to good use.
